Guidelines

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Current Students of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University who meet the following criteria:

  • Applicant’s cumulative GPA much be at least 2.5
  • Applicant must demonstrate financial need
  • Applicant must be a member of one of the following historically underrepresented groups in aviation, or the sciences: African American, Caribbean or Hispanic

Or

  • Applicant can be a member of one of the following student organizations:
    •      National Society of Black Engineers(NSBE)
    •      Organization for Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP)
    •       Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE)
    •       African Student Association (ASA)
    •       Caribbean Student Association (CSA)
  • Applicant must demonstrate evidence of on-campus and/or community involvement

HOW DO I APPLY?

Students will be notified by multiple sources at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, including this website once the application process is open. Students must complete the  online application. The application includes an application form, 1-2 page essay, and an official transcript.

WHAT IS THE SELECTION PROCESS?

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Staff will review all applications and submit the top candidates to the Central Florida Foundation staff for final review. The following will be will be considered when making the selection:

  • Meeting essay length requirement: 1-2 pages
  • Meeting essay response requirement: answering succinctly the essay topic/question
  • Meeting essay grammar and punctuation requirement
  • Scholarship- personal academic achievements including GPA
  • Campus involvement – involvement in clubs and organizations
  • Off Camus involvement – involvement in Volunteer/Community service activities or organizations
